Undyed or solid-color silk chiffon. The standard sheer fabric for overlays, layering, and lightweight garments. Dyed to your Pantone specification.

Custom digital or screen prints on silk chiffon. The semi-transparent surface gives prints a soft, watercolor-like quality that heavier fabrics cannot produce.

Permanently pleated silk chiffon with a structured, dimensional texture. Holds its shape without ironing. Used for pleated dresses, skirts, and decorative accents.

Also called silk yoryu. Crinkle texture created during weaving, giving a relaxed, organic surface. Lighter and more casual than standard chiffon. Works well for scarves and bohemian-style garments.

Silk chiffon with threadwork, sequins, or bead embellishment on the sheer surface. Creates a layered, dimensional effect. Popular for bridal, evening wear, and couture overlays.

Silk chiffon woven with metallic lurex threads for a shimmering, light-catching finish. Available in gold, silver, and iridescent tones. Used for evening wear and festive garments.

No other silk fabric offers as many decorative variations as chiffon. We produce plain, printed, pleated, crinkle, embroidered, beaded, metallic, iridescent, ombré, and burnout chiffon — all from the same factory. This lets you build a full collection of textures and finishes with one supplier and consistent base quality.

Chiffon's transparency is the point. Layer it over a solid lining for dimension. Use it as an overlay on evening gowns for a soft, ethereal effect. Stack multiple layers for volume without adding weight. The fabric weighs 26–51 g/m² depending on momme — even at 12mm, it stays light and fluid.

Prints on chiffon look different from prints on charmeuse or twill. The sheer base lets light through, giving designs a soft, watercolor quality. Colors appear lighter and more diffused. If you want bold, opaque prints, chiffon is not the right base — choose charmeuse or twill instead. If you want delicate, artistic prints with transparency, chiffon is the fabric.
We manufacture custom silk products and fabrics for brands in 50+ countries. From fabric selection to finished goods, everything is produced in our own facility - giving you one point of contact, consistent quality, and shorter lead times.

Silk chiffon ranges from 6mm to 12mm. 6mm is the lightest and most transparent. 8mm is the most common weight for scarves and overlays. 10–12mm gives slightly more coverage for dresses and blouses.
Yes. Silk chiffon is a sheer fabric by nature. At 6–8mm it is very transparent and typically requires a lining or layering underneath. At 10–12mm it is semi-sheer with better coverage but still not opaque.
Yes. The semi-transparent surface gives prints a soft, diffused, watercolor-like effect. Colors appear lighter than on opaque fabrics. Digital printing from 50m per design. Screen printing from 300m+.
Permanently pleated chiffon that holds its fold structure without ironing. Created through a heat-setting process after weaving. Used for pleated dresses, skirts, and decorative accents. We stock pleated chiffon and can produce custom pleat widths.
Both are sheer, lightweight silk fabrics. Chiffon is smoother, more transparent, and lighter. Georgette has a crinkled, grainy texture and is slightly heavier with more body. Chiffon floats; georgette has more structure. Choose chiffon for maximum sheerness, georgette for textured sheerness.
Stocked colors: 50 meters. Custom dyeing: 100–200m per color. Printing: 50m per design.
Silk chiffon does fray, especially at cut edges. French seams or narrow rolled hems are recommended to enclose raw edges. Use sharp microtex needles and avoid pulling the fabric during sewing.
Silk chiffon is woven with a plain weave using highly twisted S-twist and Z-twist yarns in alternating directions. The low thread density creates the signature sheer, airy quality. Unlike georgette (which also uses twisted yarns), chiffon has a smoother surface and lighter weight.
