Silk Brocade Jacquard Fabric
Silk brocade features raised, multi-color or metallic thread patterns on a silk base. Richer and more textured than standard jacquard. Used for formal garments, ceremonial pieces, and luxury accessories.
Silk Damask Fabric
Reversible tone-on-tone patterns created by contrasting satin and matte weave areas. Heavier construction suitable for upholstery, drapery, and structured evening wear.
Silk Cotton Jacquard Fabric

Silk Jacquard — How It's Made and How to Choose
The Jacquard Loom
Jacquard weaving uses a programmable loom that controls individual warp threads. Each thread can be raised or lowered independently, allowing complex patterns to be woven directly into the fabric. The technology was invented by Joseph Marie Jacquard in 1804 and remains the foundation of patterned fabric production today. Modern electronic jacquard looms can handle thousands of threads for highly detailed designs.
Jacquard Pattern Types
- Tone-on-tone: Same color, pattern created by contrasting satin and matte weave areas. Subtle and elegant. Used in damask.
- Multi-color: Different colored yarns woven together. Richer and more complex visual effect.
- Metallic: Gold or silver metallic threads woven with silk. Creates shimmering patterns. Common in brocade.
- Logo/Brand: Company logos or brand motifs woven as a repeat pattern. Used for branded scarves, ties, and packaging.
Care
- Dry clean recommended for heavy jacquard and brocade.
- Light jacquard (14mm) can be hand washed in cold water with care.
- Do not wring or twist — the structural pattern can distort under stress.
- Iron on low heat on the reverse side. Press gently to avoid flattening the woven texture.
