Silk Weight and Grade
All DreamSilk pieces are crafted from OEKO-TEX® certified Grade 6A mulberry silk, delivering outstanding tensile strength and elegant natural luster across even the lightweight styles to meet premium brand standards.
The fabric composition and momme weight directly define a silk dress draping performance, air permeability and shape retention throughout wear. Fabric selection for silk dress requires more sophisticated consideration compared to loungewear and silk accessories. The material must adapt to daily body movements, diverse styling demands and all-day wearing comfort.
Silk Momme Specifications
- 16 Momme | The standard weight for silk dressing fabric. It features adequate coverage for business and professional attire, with soft fluidity and optimal cost performance.
- 19 Momme | Industry Benchmark (Recommended)Superior durability and refined draping effect compared to 16 momme silk, balancing texture and practicality perfectly.
- 22 Momme | Remarkable wrinkle resistance. Boasting high fiber density, this specification effectively prevents seam slippage, perfectly tailored for producing durable, long-wearing apparel.
- 25 Momme | Heavyweight premium silk, defining high-end luxury with substantial texture and superior quality.

Custom Size Charts & Regional Grading
Most fit issues in silk dress trace back to one root cause — using a generic Asian factory block on a Western body. DreamSilk eliminates that gap by grading every order to your brand's own size chart, or to the regional standard your end customer expects.
- Bring your own size chart — Send your spec sheets in cm or inches and we'll grade the full size set accordingly, from XS to XXL for adults and age-based blocks for kids.
- Regional sizing presets — US, EU, UK, JP, and AU size charts available as starting templates, each built on locally validated body measurement data.
- Multi-market grading in a single order — Run US sizing for your North American warehouse and EU sizing for your European warehouse within the same PO, no MOQ split required.
- Three fit blocks per style — Choose relaxed, regular, or slim fit independently for the top and the pant.
- Pre-production fit samples — Sealed samples in your key sizes (typically S, M, L) for approval before bulk cutting, so measurement issues are caught at the pattern stage, not after shipment.
All measurements are taken across the points shown in the guide opposite, with tolerances held within ±1 cm on body girths and ±0.5 cm on collar, cuff, and placket details.

Custom silk dress customization
We support full private-label production for emerging silk brands and established fashion houses alike. Every detail — from labels to logo placement — is built to your brand specifications, with low MOQs available on most trim options.
Custom Labels
- Neck Label — Woven, satin, or printed; standard size 30×50 mm or built to your spec.
- Brand Label — Side-seam or back-yoke placement, in damask, cotton, or silk weave.
- Care Label — Multi-language wash instructions compliant with EU, US, and UK textile labeling regulations.
- Hang Tag — Custom shape, paperweight, and finishing (foil stamping, embossing, recycled stock).
Logo Embroidery
Placed on chest, pocket, cuff, or back collar. Flat or 3D embroidery available, with thread color matched to your brand palette — ideal for signature silk dresses and brand uniform programs.
Digital & Screen Printing
Precision digital and reactive screen printing with exact Pantone matching and seamless repeats. We handle rapid strike-offs through bulk production, delivering color-accurate, retail-ready fabric without compromising the natural hand-feel of mulberry silk.

Construction Notes for Silk Dresses
- Bias-cut garments require extra fabric allowance (15–20% more) due to grain angle.
- Silk chiffon and georgette dresses typically need lining — habotai or CDC lining recommended.
- French seams or narrow rolled hems for sheer fabrics. Enclosed seams for charmeuse.
- Pre-shrink all silk fabric before cutting to prevent fit issues after first wash.
